CATFIGHT HEADED TO GENRE BLAST FILM FESTIVAL 2020!

Catfight has just been chosen as an Official Selection for the GenreBlast Film Festival!!! We are so honored and thrilled to be playing amongst some of the best genre films of the last year in the beautiful mountains of Virginia 💕

As of now, GenreBlast plans to hold an in-person festival that complies with COVID-19 protocol the weekend of September 3rd at the Alamo Draft House in Winchester, Virginia. Seating will be limited due to social distancing rules. CATFIGHT STANDS WITH BLACK LIVES MATTER

 In the wake of the recent black lives lost to horrendous police brutality and the protests sweeping America to fight against racism, I would like to make something very clear: Catfight has always, currently does, and will always stand with Black Lives Matter and our black siblings who have suffered at the hands of the police and white supremacy. Our hearts ache for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony Mcdade, and the countless others and their families who have been senselessly murdered at the hands of white supremacy. At the heart of our film is a story about how inequality often turns violent, as we have seen done to the black community in real time and over the course of the history of this country. For those surprised by this uprising, you shouldn’t be; America has had a long, insidious history of racism, one that specifically feeds into greed and white supremacy power structures that persist to this day. Revolution is the language of the oppressed, and this has been a long time coming. For those resisting this fight: get quiet, and take a long, hard look at your privilege and discomfort. No one’s rights are being lost because others are fighting to gain more rights, and the discomfort you may currently be feeling is small in comparison to what the black community has endured for centuries. For those losing hope, please do not; these times are signs of much needed change. The only way we lose is by losing hope. To all those out there fighting: keep the fight going. We cannot and will not let this movement die.

More importantly, I highly encourage everyone who is not already doing so to follow black leaders, activists, and content makers. The three of us are white/white passing women who are trying our best to listen and uplift black voices, but we are not by any means the end-all-be-all voices of truth on the matter. True allyship means actively listening to the black community who actually have endured these experiences, which is more crucial than ever.

WATCH CATFIGHT AT THE QUEENS WORLD FILM FESTIVAL ONLINE!

 In light of COVID-19, the Queens World Film Festival has moved the festival to an online streaming platform that is free for all to view. Yes, you heard right: 100% FREE!!! The film will be up for the next 2 weeks, after which it will be taken down, so make sure to watch it during that time period. We don’t know quite yet when it will be up online, so here is your opportunity to watch it! Please also feel free to share with anyone you would like - the more views the merrier! And while you’re there, tap that little “Vote Now” button under the video player to show us some love 😘 You can find the link to the film below. our little feminist action-thriller has been selected to play at the 10th annual Queens World Film Festival! We are such huge fans of this amazing community-building festival that has been bringing fantastic films to Queens for the past decade, and we are so honored to now join the ranks of these wonderful filmmakers.
